• Mark Granados is one of the leading sources of acquisitions, redevelopment and disposition opportunities in the shopping center industry. Since the early 1990s he has been involved in more than $1.5 billion in shopping center transactions.

CAREER SUMMARY

Mark's 20-plus-year career in retail real estate includes time with Weingarten Realty in Houston, Mark handled acquisitions and extended the company's reach into Central and West Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada markets. He later worked for two California companies - Golden State Properties and CenterTrust - where he expanded his experience with shopping center acquisitions and redevelopments in Arizona, Nevada and Washington.

Mark has used his grasp of the redevelopment process to focus his division's efforts on infill projects, tackling difficult properties and complex entitlement processes to bring new retail to areas that previously offered no opportunities for retailers.

"Most of our projects have a tremendous amount of moving pieces, whether it's relocating streets, redoing drainage, redoing existing utilities, demolishing existing buildings, or assembling additional parcels," Mark says.

"We're the group that can provide the opportunities that don't already exist. We create our own opportunities and then go pursue them as hard as we can."

• Mark is an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church and is involved in his children’s soccer and basketball teams. He is also a member of the advisory board for The Business School and Our Lady of the Lake University and was an active participant both as a donor and as a fund raiser for the new YMCA – Hartman Complex.
